Big in Japan

Sooo, we are in the new issue of Tattoo Burst and if you're in Japan you should pick it up.
You know, so you can look at us all the time!

Or because it's a great magazine with an awesome cover-dude!
And that's us!

Full story here.

Boring ass info post... but please read it anyway!

Here's a little late friday night info for you, since i'm stuck at work anyway:

Eckel will be in Germany from the 21st till the 29th of January.
And he will be working at the Brighton Tattoo Convention on January 30th and 31st.
So if you wanted to come by and talk to him at the shop, please wait until the 2nd of February where he'll be at the shop most of the day, doing just that.

Our work schedules are pretty random these days, so we advice you not to drop by without emailing us first, cause we might not be here.
Also, between January 29th and February 8th we won't be answering mails or taking any consultations.*
During that time Allan will be working, but the shop will be closed for everyone except the people getting tattooed.
So, if you have something urgent to discuss, please do so before January 29th.

Thanks for reading and have a fantastic weekend!

*Eckel's consultation day on the 2nd is obviously an exception.

A not so fun update

For personal reasons, we've been forced to cancel our trip to the Milan Tattoo Convention in February.
Allan hadn't booked any clients for the show, but we still sincerely apologize to anyone who was hoping to get tattooed by him during the convention.
We hope to be back at our usual spot next to Mr. Dettmer next year!

The next convention Uncle Allan is attending will be Ink n Iron in Long Beach, California in June.

We're back

Sorry for the lack of action on this blog while we were in Japan.
I hope you've checked mine and Allan's personal blogs from time to time, at least they've been sort of active.

Today is the 30th and for some that means time to send your in submissions for some sweet, future Uncle A tattoos.
I just wanted to let you know that it's gonna be a little while before you'll get a reply to those mails.
I'm just gonna collect them all this week, and then get out the calendar and try to fit everybody in.
After that, i'll get back to you, so please don't mail me more than once.

Unfortunately, i can already tell that there won't be time for everyone this time around.
This is not because i don't want to give you all appointments (there's nothing i'd rather do) or because Allan doesn't want to tattoo you (if i didn't occasionally stop him, he'd tattoo all the friggin time).
It's simply because there's not enough time.
We're already booked for a really long time and we don't want to be booked so far into the future that it won't be possible for us to take a trip somewhere, or a day off once in a while, so we're gonna try to fit in as many as possible, and the rest will have to get back to us when we take new clients again.
The selection process is not gonna be first come, first served, so you still have all week to write me.
Ok, i think that's it!
If you don't get an appointment this time around, don't be discouraged, we'll open up for new clients again in a couple of months.

Oh, also, i'm starting to get a few Milan mails already too.
If we do Milan in February, it'll be the same deal as last year: walk ins only, and you'll be able to chose from a bunch of line drawings that'll only be tattooed once.
Kind of a custom flash type deal!
We don't take request for the flash, Allan is gonna do whatever he feels like, and if you like it, come by the booth and get it tattooed.
All be designs will be made to take around three hours and as usual he's not tattooing any weird or awkward spots.

Ok, now that's really it!
I'm actually super sick and the only known cure to this type of food poisoning* is Star Trek and Lucifer snuggles.

Just because no one likes a post with no pictures, here's one of us at Inkrat with our American buddies, Hata and Allans Singapore clients

*Damn you sushi, i have your image tattooed on my arm and this is how you repay me?
Shame!

How to book for the 2009 London Convention

On the 25th, 26th and 27th of September 2009 we, Allan and Amalie, will be attending the 5th London Tattoo Convention.

Last year at the London Convention, Allan had some rules for how to book an appointment for the show.
These rules were made so we could make sure that Allan would get to do fun pieces that wouldn't break his back and put him in a bad mood.
And also to make sure that the pieces he'd start at the show would get finished there too.

And it worked out really well last year.
People came up with some great ideas, Allan had a good convention and got to do some awesome tattoos on some great people.
And that's why we'll be doing the same at this years convention!

So these are the rules for this years London Convention, please read them before writing us:

1) You can write us between the 10th of July and the 1st of August with your request.
After the 1st Allan will go through the mails and pick out those he'd like to do at the show.
You can write to a@uncleallan.com or conspiracyinctattoo@gmail.com.
We won't reply to any mails until after the 1st of August, when Allan has had a chance to look through the mails.

2) Allan won't be doing necks, ribs, stomachs, hands or insides of upper arm.
These are all places that suck to do on a convention.
If you wanted one of those spots, sorry.
There are usually no good chairs or beds at conventions and that makes these spots hard to do, for both Allan and the client, so he won't do them.

3) Try to think of something really fun to do.
Allan will pick the craziest idea, and the ones he thinks will be the most fun to do.
So think about something that hasn't been done 10000 times already.

He always loves to do animals, strange things and objects, traditional/old school portraits, and of course roses, but try to surprise him and come up with something truly original.
There is nothing wrong with hourglasses and owls, but they have been done a gizzilion times and he'll most likely do them a gizzilion more times at the studio, so try to think of something new.

4) It has to be something that can be finished in max. 4 hours.

5) Only write if you are really sure that you can make it!
We don't want to waste time emailing and scheduling people who'll cancel at the last minute, so if you aren't sure that you can afford it or make it there, then don't bother writing.
There are other people who are sure, so don't waste their chance of getting tattooed.

6) Include this information in your mail:
-Basic idea of what you want
-Where on the body
-What size
-Anything else you think Allan will need to know in order to make your tattoo

Remember that it is between the 10th of July and the 1st of August that you can write.
Do NOT email us before the 10th.
Your mail will probably be forgotten, so if you aren't sure about what date it is then just wait a day.
I won't decide right away any way and it's not about who writes first.

Thanks for your cooperation and we look forward to hearing your ideas!

Even the good old spots, like a lower arm, can be awkward to do at conventions!

Ps. Allan won't be doing a guestspot anywhere in the UK before or after the convention.
